con Canon EF 1.4x III, 1/800 f/7.1, ISO 5000, tripod.

Lo scorso anno, stavo preparandomi per una delle esperienze più belle e dure della mia vita fotografica. La spedizione sull'Himalaya indiano per fotografare il leopardo delle nevi. O perlomeno vederlo. Le condizioni non sono per tutti. Si pernotta a oltre 4000mt. Temperatura attorno ai -25. Il fiato corto, i battiti perennemente accellerati, la saturazione a livello zombie....nulla è semplice. Neppure mangiare o dormire. Ci si riscalda con stufe alimentate a sterco di mucca, ci si riposa più possibile e poi, quando l'avvicinamento viene certificato, ci si muove in direzione del fantasma di queste zone...noi abbiamo avuto trekking più o meno lunghi. Il primo, lunghissimo, ha portato ad un nulla di fatto e la frustrazione ti porta a pensare di non farcela (fisicamente). Passati 3gg di nulla, improvvisamente viene avvistato un esemplare ad una distanza ottima, che riposa su una roccia. Fortunatamente il trekking è quasi nullo stavolta Lo vediamo, è veramente vicino. Optiamo per una postazione più lontana ma più a favore di luce. Questa decisione ci premia, perché in serata, dopo qualche ora di attesa, il leopardo si sposta e viene dritto verso di noi, richiamando il maschio nelle vicinanze. Questa femmina di leopardo delle nevi mi ha dato una delle emozioni più grandi di tutta la mia vita. Spero veramente di poter tornare a rivederlo. Un saluto a tutti. Ale
