Canon EOS R + Canon 6D astromodificata + Tamron 17-35 + Minitrack LX 2

Congratulations, an outstanding job in my opinion. Very well done. What focal length did you keep the lens at?

Thank you so much Francesco! I've done both heaven and earth at 22mm

Just congratulations. You have captured the universe from a pass that I adore and in winter a lot of work, a lot of satisfaction. Greetings. Magú

Congratulations even just for the complexity and patience required by such a work, I who already when I read "union of x shots" (unless I have made them and automatically aligned the camera in 3 seconds, ex-Olympus style) I am amazed because for me the shot is one, and my "HDR" is to lower the lights and raise the shadows :-) .
The result is impactful, and practically "science fiction".
Not a polemical or sarcastic question: what kind of computers do you have?? :-) Mine, which
is not really to be thrown away (i7 which was last generation at the end of 2020, 32 GB ram and excellent video card), begins to suffer with the latest Photoshop updates, and even, if I keep other things open (damn Chrome...), every now and then it crashes and gives me "Insufficient Memory" (?!?) even just during the AI-enhanced denoise of a SINGLE Raw.

Hi Claudio! I worked on this photo for a week. Despite the excellent computer, the amount of work was enormous, once heaven and earth were united I had a file of about 500 megapixels. I could reduce the size but it was a shame and so I left it as original but of course whatever I did, the loading times were very long. Just opening camera raw after merging took a couple of minutes despite my pc being new and quite powerful.
I have an I9 11 gen with 64gb of ram and a RTX3060 12gb with liquid cooling

So a good PC three steps above mine, you explain. No, on mine a 500 mpx file crashes, I wouldn't even try. Generally I work on files between 20 and 80 mpx, rarely more, considering that the maximum use I make of them are occasional prints of 50 cm or (exceptional cases) 70 cm on the long lake, for which that "pixelation" is more than enough.
Thank you and greetings.

yes I bought it this year just because I had started to do extreme panning and my old I5 pc was suffering too much.
Usually I resize these images immediately also because I practically never print and even if I were to print, a 50-60 megapixel photo I think works well even on 100cm of long side. This time I wanted to
keep it with the maximum resolution because I wanted to print it, hoping to sell it in the future

If you really want to print it, this one here holds a colossal size, you need a laboratory equipped with a gigantic hexachrome plotter or who knows what other devilry (and poor wallet... Good 50 cm prints are already 14 euros each or worse). At 70 cm on the long side (and gloss paper) it would still give you great satisfaction, I recommend proceeding.
50 mpx I want to print, I think even the 100 cm, never personally tried.
With the Nikon D700 at 12 mpx I came out prints on the 50 cm that were already excellent.
Many professional cameras are in the 20-24 mpx range, then there is still if you need the friend Topaz Gigapixel or similar software.

Hello and thanks for the reply! 10 shots chased, then I imagine the work to realign everything.. At least 20 minutes must have passed between the first and the last one, so the sky was completely different! Really congratulations for the result achieved and patience!

Thank you all so much!
@Francesco, you spend a good half hour, that's 3 minutes per photo. But consider that in the past I have made arcs of the Milky Way with 50 mm mosaics for a total of about fifty astro-tracked shots. About an hour and a half of shots to the sky and there the sky moves a lot and the calculations to be made are several :-D

"... I always get close to the EP but I've never taken it, damn it!"
and..... Who cares?
As long as you like the photos, the judgment of others is always much less important.
All the photos in your Gallery, in my personal opinion, are excellent, excellent, beautiful, and this one is spectacular!
Bravo, Bravissimo and Congratulations!

Splendid, all photos of the night sky will always fascinate me, yours is particularly well post-processed.
One day I'll stop being too lazy to go out at night and I'll be able to dust off my Star Adventurer and get back to it.

Very nice gallery by the way.
