Life and death at the Masai Mara, 5:17 pm and 40 seconds sent on August 24, 2023 (20:45) by _Axl_. 42 comments, 1667 views. [retina]

at 238mm, 1/250 f/7.1, ISO 2500, hand held. Masai Mara, Kenya.

"Riccardo we must go! The Talek Gate is closing!" mi avverte il driver, dobbiamo andare, il gate di Talek è in chiusura. Duro. Crudele. Il Cerchio della Vita. Amo l'Africa.

Beautiful throughout the series, incredible how the zebra has managed to escape the jaws of the crocodile when its fate seemed already marked. Unpredictable nature.

:-o :-o help, terrible and real sequence, every day in the savannah life and death intersect, poor zebra .... think of wars in the world, every day can be the last and you do not even know why at least in nature the law is clear, cruel but clear
Very nice
Roby

Congratulations throughout the sequence.
If nothing else, the lion shortened an agony that would have been long and painful.

Without taking anything away from the photographs that, of course you know too, are certainly not those of national geographic, I really appreciated their succession and what together they are able to tell. In my humble opinion, however, you deserve a huge applause for the caption that is really well written. Thinking that we are lucky enough to take advantage of a similar "show" and be able to return to drink a beer with our cronies is something that at least should make us stop and reflect. Being at the top of the food chain makes us forget how things work in nature. I imagine you there, completely absorbed in the situation and estranged from the world, when at a certain point a voice brings you back to reality "Riccardo, let's go ... The Talek is closing!" One day I hope to see it too.
Congratulations for the story!!
