It breaks my heart when I see images like this. Brothers, fathers, sons friends who died to stop crazy murderous megalomaniacs. But why does man never learn anything from repeated, repetitive, deliberate mistakes?
Important tribute to young lives burned. Bravissimo Massimo.
Bye gios ;-)

Great and moving image. Normandy and the museums offer many historical images that should be teaching, not only during the agreed dates but always.
Greetings
Paul

It is impossible to forget this place, despite the many years that have passed, the memory of those white crosses that you have so well represented and described is still alive in me. Exciting image.

I saw it myself years ago and I was struck by the order and sense of tranquility

Touching.
I remember it years ago.
Arrived when silence echoed
Touching and impressive
Human madness has no boundaries and reaps many victims yesterday today and I fear tomorrow

Man is the most domestic and stupid animal there is (cit. Franco Battiato)... We will never learn from the mistakes of the past. Image that makes us reflect. Greetings

Dear Massimo,
to answer Alfonso (Dylan), man is certainly the stupidest animal, the most domestic ... I don't know.
Best regards,
Paul

Visiting war cemeteries means reflecting in silence. Unfortunately somewhere in the world there is always a conflict!
Happy Sunday Massimo!

I read your beautiful and challenging caption.
When it is said that a shot is worth + a thousand words: this is the case.

It is impossible to pass through places like this, to walk among thousands of crosses, all the same, in an endless row, and not to be overwhelmed by a wave of emotion, emotion and gratitude.
I'd like to think that we deserved such a sacrifice, but I'm not so sure...
A warm greeting. Susy
