Questa foto è frutto della ricerca, del sacrificio e dell'immensa tenacia di un grande fotografo naturalista trentino: Mauro Mendini. Un grandissimo grazie non basta per ripagarlo di questo contatto che ho avuto la fortuna di avere con uno dei rapaci notturni più belli, rari e misteriosi della nostra Val di Non. Lo sguardo magnetico di questo animale mi ha rapito completamente. È arrivato come un fantasma nelle prime ore tenebrose che precedono l'alba e dopo pochi secondi si è dileguato nel più assoluto silenzio. Ancora grazie a Mauro, sempre estremamente generoso con me, senza pretendere nulla in cambio. Al giorno d'oggi è cosa rara e mai scontata.
