Sono piccoli insetti che si incontrano facilmente lungo le rive di ruscelli e di acque stagnanti. Non credevo di poterli fotografare in volo. Ho ottenuto diversi scatti a fuoco durante la fase di volo stazionario, ma è stato possibile seguirle in autofocus anche durante le fasi più prevedibili di volo manovrato. Il crop di circa il 40% lineare si è reso necessario per la distanza minima di ben 2,4 metri del 200-600. Con il 100-400 GM l'ingrandimento sarebbe molto maggiore per la distanza minima di circa 1 metro.
