Lago Maggiore - Unica tra le isole Borromee ad essere abitata durante tutti i mesi dell'anno, ospita un piccolo villaggio di cinquanta abitanti caratterizzato da una piazzetta racchiusa da vicoli stretti e sinuosi che conducono alla passeggiata sulla punta settentrionale dell'isola. Caratteristiche sono le case a più piani sorte per sfruttare al meglio il poco spazio a disposizione: sono quasi tutte dotate di lunghi balconi indispensabili per essiccare il pesce.
