La ghiaia del viale emana un bianco che richiama alla purezza. È leggermente in salita ma una volta arrivati in cima si domina tutto il paesaggio sottostante. Siamo in località San Bernardo, il colle di Bastia, dove sorge il Sacrario Partigiano, in cui il nome dei caduti è inciso sulle lapidi bianche sul grande viale alberato. È uno dei punti d'osservazione migliori di tutta la Langa e da lì si può guardare verso est, sui colli di Cigliè e Rocca Cigliè. Sono borghi piccoli, in cui si mantiene ancora quasi intatta la tradizione agricola antica. Un'autenticità fatta di piccole cose, dove ancora si vede il segno del Medioevo: le rocche, le torri, le difese di una comunità che per forza di cose doveva trovare un modo per proteggersi. Il Sacrario di Bastia fu costruito grazie alla generosità di vari enti tra il 1947 e 1951. Sul sagrato della chiesa, nell'ossario, sono raccolte le salme di otto partigiani. Lo inaugurò direttamente l'allora capo del governo Alcide De Gasperi alla memoria dei caduti del 1° Gruppo Divisioni Alpine. Fa parte di una rete ecomuseale tranfontaliera “La Memoria della Alpi“, inserita in un progetto interregionale Italia, Francia e Svizzera.
