Una vecchia foto, che per me ha un significato particolare. Era il giugno del 2011. La passione per l'Africa era già forte, quella per la fotografia ancora da venire. Stavamo partendo, Enzo ed io, con due coppie di amici sudafricani, per il più impegnativo e indimenticabile dei nostri viaggi. Da Città del Capo al lago Tanganica, 11.000 km e cinque settimane di viaggio attraverso Sudafrica, Botswana, Zambia, Malawi e Mozambico alla ricerca di un'Africa autentica, non turistica. Partimmo sotto la pioggia, su una Toyota di dieci anni acquistata sul posto. L'inverno australe stava per iniziare. Ci aspettavano notti in tenda sotto zero e strade che solo un eufemismo potrebbe definire tali. Ma che bella avventura!
