Fotografia scansionata. Sul retro "Ricordo nella Val d'Aosta, sul nevaio. Altitudine 3200 m" Purtroppo la qualità non è ottima, ma credo che questo rappresenti un importante documento storico per gli appassionati di alpinismo. Tra le poche innovazioni significative del ventennio, si ricorda la "Scuola Militare di Alpinismo", istituita ad Aosta nel 1934 e finalizzata alla preparazione di personale chiamato ad operare negli scacchieri montani. Nel 1936, anno in cui fu arruolato il mio prozio, venne istituito il nucleo pattuglie veloci sci-alpine, reparto che addestrava ufficiali e sottufficiali dei reggimenti alla condotta di pattuglie ardite in azioni di particolare rischio e difficoltà. In quel periodo furono compiute imprese alpinistiche di notevole valore come, nel 1935 l'ascensione al Monte Bianco di 200 alpini per itinerari diversi e, nel 1936, la traversata delle Grandes Murrailes sino alla conca di Cervinia in cui furono impegnati 600 alpini.
