Salone dei Cinquecento, visto in questo caso dal ballatoio con una profonda prospettiva aerea, una prima volta che mi ha lasciato senza fiato ... sospeso in una veduta in tre prospettive ... prima di scendere in quel pavimento, sotto il soffitto a cassettoni ed ai piedi dei famosi affreschi nelle pareti del salone. La sala più grande e importante di tutto il palazzo, un ambiente che nella storia della città e della nazione ha avuto un ruolo determinante, avendo ospitato la camera dei deputati nel periodo di Firenze capitale e il consiglio dei Cinquecento al tempo della Repubblica di Savonarola (che lo fece costruire). Il salone, imponente per dimensioni e altezza, è arricchito dal magnifico soffitto a cassettoni, dalle statue in marmo opera, tra gli altri, di Michelangelo e del Giambologna e dalle pareti affrescate dal Vasari. Oggi è utilizzato anche per accogliere conferenze ed eventi di grande rilievo
