Sorvagsvatn, detto anche Leitisvatn, si trova nella parte settentrionale di Vagar, l'isola situata nell'arcipelago danese delle Isole Faroe. Il lago è conosciuto per la singolarità della sua posizione, a ridosso di un precipizio sull'Atlantico che dal suo altopiano roccioso appare sovrastare l'oceano, ma in realtà si tratta di una magnifica illusione ottica. La sua forma allungata e i meravigliosi giochi di luce, che ne influenzano la prospettiva, contribuiscono a ingannare l'occhio umano dando l'impressione di un'inclinazione surreale. Questa bellezza naturale, con una superficie di 3,4 chilometri quadrati e una profondità di 59, è il lago più grande dell'arcipelago e, nonostante l'apparenza di trovarsi a centinaia di metri più in alto di quanto non sia, si trova invece a soli 30 metri sul livello del mare.
