Dal centro storico della città di Cortona in tre chilometri si raggiunge il luogo di preghiera Francescano de "le Celle". La provincia di Arezzo è stata attraversata molte volte da Sud (confinante con l'Umbria) a Nord (confinante con la Romagna) da San Francesco di Assisi durante i sui spostamenti spirituali. A Nord c'è il Santuario Francescano de la Verna che vi ho già descritto, a Sud c'è l'Eremo Francescano le Celle di Cortona, il convento de “Le Celle” costituisce uno dei primi insediamenti francescani scelto e voluto da Francesco di Assisi.
