Una lunga fila di zebre è diretta alla pozza per abbeverarsi. Lentamente e con molta circospezione perché avvertono, pur senza vederli, la presenza di predatori. Hanno motivo di tanta cautela. A un centinaio di metri, nascosta da un cespuglio, c'è una leonessa. Altre due sono un po' più indietro, a formare una linea. Si avvicinano metro dopo metro, tenendosi al riparo dagli arbusti. Finalmente, due passi avanti ed uno indietro, le zebre arrivano all'acqua perché la sete e' più forte della paura. Qualcosa però le spaventa. Non le leonesse ma una iena che sbuca da dietro un cumulo di terra. Un attimo e scatta un fuggi fuggi generale.
