L'ex chiesa parrocchiale di Santa Caterina d'Alessandria, menzionata nel 1347 e consacrata nel 1452, è la prima chiesa di Corvara. Nella piccola chiesa, costruita in stile tardo gotico, si possono ammirare alcune opere di notevole bellezza e importanza artistica. Ad esempio, alcuni affreschi che raffigurano, tra l'altro, Santa Caterina e un “Altare ad ante” (nella foto) risalente al 1520, l'unico Altare ad ante ancora ben conservato nelle chiese della Val Badia. Sul retro di una delle ante dell'altare maggiore è rappresentato il martirio di Santa Caterina. L'altare fu realizzato dalla bottega locale di Ruprecht Potsch e completamente restaurato nel 1975. La leggenda narra che i dipinti sui due pannelli dell'altare siano del famoso Tiziano, che sembra fosse stato a Corvara per un breve periodo. Gli esperti d'arte attribuiscono invece il lavoro ad un artista della cosiddetta Scuola del Danubio, Albrecht Altdorfer. Intorno alla chiesa vi è, come d'uso nei nostri paesi, il cimitero del villaggio. (Da Altabadia.org).
