Il "francobollo" é una classica fotografia che ritrae i palazzi storici con la classica forma quadrata o rettangolare dell'apertura della Corte interna, non credo di averne visto uno del Palazzo Strozzi. Buona visione a tutti, i cenni storici sono tratti da Visit Firenze. Le nobili e ricche famiglie fiorentine erano, all'epoca, in costante conflitto per meglio apparire delle altre e molte novità architettoniche possono render merito alla loro esistenza, dato che cercavano sempre di superare in grandezza, bellezza ed imponenza le dimore delle altre famiglie di potere. Ed è proprio grazie a questa "mania di grandezza" che oggi vantiamo edifici come Palazzo Pitti e Palazzo Strozzi. La Famiglia Strozzi, senza dubbio una delle più ricche di Firenze fino al momento del suo esilio dalla città nel 1434, fu in continuo conflitto politico e finanziario con la Famiglia dè Medici. Dopo l'esilio, Filippo Strozzi lavorò duramente per accumulare quei fondi che gli permettessero di riguadagnare la sua posizione di prestigio e potere e rientrare a Firenze. Nel 1466, tornò con una missione...schiacciare i suoi rivali...e vendicarsi. Una volta entrato all'interno delle mura cittadine, il suo primo passo fu quello di costruire una dimora che rappresentasse il suo nuovo potere e la sua ricchezza, ancor più visibile, ancor più prestigiosa...semplicemente più grande di qualsiasi altra dimora o palazzo della città, specialmente di quelle della Famiglia dè Medici.
