Questo minuscolo passeriforme del deserto è iperattivo, audace e rumoroso. Vive nei wadi del deserto e nelle pianure desertiche disseminate di cespugli. Salta sul terreno o tra i cespugli con la sua lunga coda sollevata. Si muove spesso in coppia o in piccoli gruppi, emettendo trilli rumorosi. Una volta classificato con le Cisticole ora è stato inserito in una famiglia a sé (Scotocercidae) di cui è l'unico rappresentante. Abbastanza facile da avvistare nel giusto habitat ma difficilissimo da fotografare. Per ottenere questa foto ravvicinata l'ho dovuto inseguire nel deserto per quasi un'ora! Deserto nei pressi di Tinejdad, Novembre 2022.
