Kodniztal, Hohe Tauern Nationalpark, Osttirol ... agosto 2022 ... Il rifugio Studlhutte, posto ai 2801 metri della forcella Fanatscharte, tra i detriti morenici delle vedrette del Grossglockner e l'ardita cresta Studl sulla parete del Fanatkogel, è forse il più suggestivo ed originale tra i tanti rifugi disseminati lungo le valli e le creste degli Alti Tauri, nonchè un esempio lungimirante di architettura ecologica. Il nucleo più antico dell'edificio risale al 1867 ed all'epoca vantava il primato di primo ed unico rifugio del Club Alpino Tedesco, il mitico Deutscher Alpenverein. La nuova e moderna struttura è stata realizzata tra il 1993 ed il 1996 su progetto dell'architetto Albin Glasser: il disegno ricorda vagamente la forma di una botte col tetto rivestito in alluminio e tirato verso terra sul lato dei venti dominanti, mentre le restanti pareti sono coperte da scandole in legno. La Studlhutte è in grado di resistere a venti superiori ai 200 km orari ed è praticamente autosufficiente grazie all'energia termica e fotovoltaica prodotta dai pannelli solari installati. La maggior parte degli alpinisti che hanno programmato l'ascensione al Grossglockner od una semplice escursione sugli sparuti residui ghiacciai del gigante dei Tauri, sceglie questo rifugio come base logistica ed è ben lieta di superare i 900 metri di dislivello che lo separano dal fondovalle ...
