Sono in marcia dalle 7 del mattino ed è sera inoltrata, le gambe tremano per il lungo sforzo, il sole ha picchiato tutto il giorno senza tregua, le mosche non hanno dato pace anche sopra i 2000 metri e le soddisfazioni sono state poche. Quando ormai sono in prossimità dell'auto lo vedo, al bordo di una radura... a circa 40 metri. Sì muove cauto, sempre attento a qualsivoglia movimento o rumore, eppure non mi ha visto. Mi nascondo nell'erba alta e aspetto: inaspettatamente prosegue nella mie direzione, minuto dopo minuto è sempre più vicino. Quando è a circa 10 metri mi sollevo, ho giusto il tempo di scattare una foto mentre ci guardiamo negli occhi, in un attimo è solo più una macchia rossiccia che corre saltando all'orizzonte.
