Plaza de La Catedral è la più uniforme tra le principali quattro coloniali di L'Avana Vieja. Questa piazza è un autentico museo del barocco, in quanto tutti gli edifici che si vi trovano, inclusa La Catedral, risalgono al XVIII secolo. In questa piazza confluiscono le vie Empedrado e San Ignacio. Una statua di Antonio Gades, un ballerino spagnolo di flamenco sotto le arcate del XVII secolo il Palacio del Marques de Arcos o Conde de Lombillo, un lungo arco dell'alto edificio in Plaza de la Catedral.
