Nel 2014, i residenti della capitale hanno celebrato l'apertura di una passeggiata galleggiante sull'Avenida del Puerto, accanto al vecchio Magazzino del tabacco e della legna, sotto gli auspici dell'Office of the City Historian nell'ambito della riprogettazione urbana di quell'area in omaggio al 495° anniversario dell'Avana. Questa passeggiata galleggiante è costituita da tre componenti fondamentali: la zattera, o cisterne d'aria, preposte ad offrire sostegno alla struttura metallica, che dà solidità e forma al molo e, infine, su di esso, si estende la sua parte percorribile: il tavolato.
