Via Roma , la via principale di Exilles . Dopo il Trattato di Utrecht , il forte di Exilles venne ampliato e ulteriormente fortificato dai Savoia e , nel 1745 , durante la guerra di successione austriaca , consentì alla guarnigione piemontese di respingere le truppe francesi che tentavano di aprirsi la strada verso la bassa Val Susa. Nel 1796 il forte e il paese passarono nuovamente sotto il dominio dei francesi durante la Prima Repubblica , i quali ne ordinarono lo smantellamento .
