La Maserati 150 fu costruita tra il 1955 ed il 1957 in 25 esemplari... di cui 24 in versione Barchetta come questa visibile nella fotografia... ed uno solo in versione Graturismo. Era stata progettata per ospitare un motore con 4 cilindri in linea di 1484 cm3 erogante 140 Cv ma su diversi esemplari venne invece montato il motore della Maserati 200 S... un 4 cilindri in linea di 1994 cm3 che erogando 187 CV portava la vettura a sfiorare i 200 chilometri orari di velocità massima... questo per poter competere nella classe 2000 cm3. Essendo una vettura venduta anche a conduttori privati uno dei primi esemplari fu acquistato dall'allora pilota... e poi futuro imprenditore e costruttore argentino di origini italiane... Alejandro (detto anche Alessandro) de Tomaso. Il valore di una 150 S nel mercato collezionistico supera abbondantemente il milione e mezzo di euro.
