La battaglia di arresto nel Monte Grappa _________________________________________________________ La conquista del Grappa, infatti, avrebbe consentito agli austo-ungarici di dilagare nella sottostante pianura veneta e colpire alle spalle il nostro schieramento sul Piave, dal Montello al mare. Consci dell'importanza del loro compito - "Monte Grappa tu sei la mia Patria" diceva la loro canzone -, i soldati del Grappa, anche a costo dei più gravi sacrifici, nella prima e seconda battaglia difensiva contesero accanitamente ogni palmo di terreno all'irruenza nemica, sino a stroncarne ogni velleità offensiva e travolgerla per sempre con la terza battaglia dell'ottobre 1918. La prima battaglia difensiva - quella di arresto dell'avanzata nemica - si svolse in due fasi: dal 14 al 26 novembre e dall'11 al 21 dicembre 1917. ___________ PS: questo pdr è stato fatto nel 2015 per la ricorrenza del Centenario della Prima Grande Guerra, Vale79 ne ha fatto uno nel 2016 simile in b.n. lei lo sa e la saluto.
