La Ferrari 308 è una vettura a 2 posti che venne prodotta dal 1975 al 1985 nelle versioni GTB… Gran Turismo Berlinetta … e GTS… Gran Turismo Scoperta… per un totale di poco più di 3000 vetture. Il suo propulsore era situato in posizione centrale posteriore ed era dotato di 8 cilindri disposti a V di 90° di 2926 cm3 che erogando 255 cavalli di potenza massima portava la vettura ad oltre 250 chilometri di velocità massima. La trazione era sulle ruote posteriori. Mentre il telaio fu sempre di tipo tubolare, fino al 1975 la carrozzeria… prodotta dalla Carrozzeria di Sergio Scaglietti a Maranello (Mo)… era in vetroresina (circa 750 esemplari) poi diventò di acciaio (più robusta ma di circa 150 chilogrammi più pesante). Nel 1980 uscì il modello ad iniezione mentre nel 1982 venne prodotta la versione detta “Quattrovalvole”. Le versioni GTS (GTS, GTSi e GTS Quattrovalvole) divennero famose perché utilizzate da Tom Selleck nella serie televisiva americana Magnum, P. I. (1980-1988). Dal 1976 vennero allestite alcune 308… nella versione GTB… per poter partecipare al Campionato Mondiale Rally (circa 11 esemplari in totale) di cui 4… come questa visibile nella fotografia… furono elaborate dalla Giuliano Michelotto Automobili di Padova… con l'approvazione di Enzo Ferrari… e iscritte nel Gruppo B. Fra le varie migliorie avevano la potenza aumentata da 288 e fino a 320 cavalli. Il Gruppo B esistette dal 1982 al 1986 poi… per la troppa pericolosità… sia per i partecipanti che per il pubblico… venne abolito. la Ferrari 308 GTB in versione Rally Gruppo B... visibile in questa mia fotografia... fu condotta inizialmente da Maurizio Cavalli "Menez" e poi da altri piloti fra cui Harry Taivonen... il fratello del compianto Henri... per poi essere acquistata dal rallysta spagnolo Antonio Zanini. Dopo essere stata dismessa a causa della soppressione del Gruppo B entrò a far parte del mondo del collezionismo. Attualmente dovrebbe far parte di una collezione sita in Terra Fiamminga: il suo valore di mercato dovrebbe aggirarsi attorno al milione di euro.
