Hindeloopen è un grazioso e fiabesco villaggio olandese nella regione della Frisia affacciato sul Ijsselmeer. Il primo insediamento risale al 13 secolo, ma il villaggio raggiunse la piena prosperità nel 17 e nel 18 secolo, quando divenne un importante centro per il commercio marittimo. Sebbene il Secolo d'oro sia ormai lontano nel tempo, Hindeloopen vanta un ricco retaggio di quel periodo, ancora ben visibile nelle vivaci opere artigianali dipinte a mano, nei caratteristici costumi tradizionali e persino nella lingua, una particolare combinazione di frisone occidentale, inglese, danese e norvegese. Attualmente il villaggio conta circa 700 abitanti e offre ai visitatori un quadro perfettamente conservato dello stile di vita tradizionale della Frisia. Il centro storico è caratterizzato da un labirinto ordinato di strade antiche, canali e ponti di legno e può essere esplorato con enorme piacere sia a piedi che in bicicletta. Rimangono tuttora nelle strette vie della città alcune delle case dei capitani, testimonianza di questo periodo di prosperità. Alcune presentano tuttora un'ancora appesa sulla facciata, all'epoca indicazione che il capitano che vi abitava era disponibile per un ingaggio. Il tintinnio degli alberi delle barche a vela mosse dal gelido vento serale del nord, la casa celeste del circolo dei pescatori dove i vecchietti si trovano a chiaccherare, le pecore che pascolano nei campi attorno al villaggio e la luce calda, avvolgente e lunga dei tramonti del nord. Questa estate sono voluto tornare! dovevo fare un giro per tutta questa zona della frisia in realtà per impegni aeronautici siamo potuti arrivare solo per cena all'ultimo respiro con l'ultima luce quella più calda ed avvolgente! E anche questa volta mi ha regalato brividi intensissimi. Li ho assaporati con i miei figli seduto come allora sulla casetta celeste dei pescatori, mangiando i famosi frutti di mare del luogo nel solito suggestivo ristorante di allora. una meraviglia, una grande serata un pieno di emozioni che spero di regalarvi pure a voi con questa immagine.
