Both the spirit and human nature are capable of generating sublime works of ingenuity, solidarity and art, as well as of producing baseness, horrors and mediocrity for which there is not an abyss of sufficient depth to represent them. For the last, when it is not possible to fight them, all that remains is to sadly do what Virgil suggested to Dante: "Non ragioniam di lor, ma guarda e passa"
The shot, beyond the exposure you mentioned, is tender and, personally, I appreciate it.
Happy Sunday

I am very sorry for what happened, unfortunately often the "employees" are too diligent in what is not serious while the various disfigureers remain there. I like the photo and it is very tender, a warm greeting and good Sunday,
Paola

Demagogy and ignorance. Sometimes the limits of fantasy are overcome in a metaphysical separation between men and corporals. In Italy there are still entire villages built illegally with political connivance of all kinds. Destroying a small memory becomes a hunting trophy on which to celebrate one's miserable dimension without seeing anything else, without upsy those who have interests, faults and greater powers.
Beautiful the photo anyway, for me a masterpiece of equal size to the caption.
A cordial greeting.
Paolo

Interesting shot and reflection, I share your thoughts. There are absurd situations and there is no middle ground. Or you are rigid and strict with the rules (generally with ordinary people) and extremely indulgent (especially with the powerful). Happy Sunday

Only those who have had a four-legged friend can understand the love and pain for his passing. a plaque "humanizes" the relationship between... sin for the "human" gesture of erasing such a testimony ... what matters to me is that his earthly atoms still found a beautiful burial place... after all, "... even the speme last goddess flees the tombs..'
Thank merak for the testimony.

Thank you Carlo Alfonso for the story you have attached: yes, three or four kilos of sand from now on you will need to buy them at the supermarket! [here in my part you are already starting to find at the supermarket bags of so-called soil for flowers that has a pungent and indefinable chemical smell ....] and of course, in my area, a base on top of the reinforced concrete embankment of two meters by two for the monument to the Madonna... :D I... 8-) .

Angela Pirovano, Marco, Paola, Alejandro, Gianpy, thank you all for your comments full of humanity, all very valuable and valuable; I find Paul's lines "Demagogy and ignorance. Sometimes the limits of fantasy are overcome in a metaphysical separation between men and corporals. In Italy there are still entire villages built illegally with political connivance of all kinds. Destroying a small memory becomes a hunting trophy on which to celebrate one's miserable dimension without seeing anything else, without upsy those who have interests, faults and greater powers": yes, misery is the insensitivity and emptiness of humanity, devoid of measure and balance that makes the guts contort with anger: how many corporals we have around! A hug to all of you, giancarlo

A shot that although slightly overexposed, has in its message the strong point, your dog who looks at it in the picture has a magnificent expression ! For me this photo is wonderful!
Povera Lili, her destroyed tombstone saddens me.

The moment caught is beautiful.
I'm the light ... Never mind.
You have caught a moment of recollection that makes you think .. the dog seems to read this plaque in memory of a fellow man.
This I read regretted what man has done!
Lax speechless.

Gabribocc, Giordano and Alessandro, thank you for your compliments for the photo and for your considerations on what happened: yes, sometimes animals surprise us; in fact in the moment caught, Mulberry is actually looking at the photo,... eh, if the dogs could talk! I for one would like to know what he had thought in that moment ... we also agree on the need to grow general common sense... a warm greeting to all of you, giancarlo
@Giordano: yes, in the meantime an image should matter "the emotional or documentary impact that the image transmits or proposes": documenting a famine in Sudan by showing a dying child with a vulture nearby waiting to eat it" has, rightly, an emotional and documentary impact billions of times stronger than "Lili, the American".

As already mentioned before, it did not want to be a payer between the two events (and I emphasize it again), but only an example to say that the emotional impact of a photograph, for me, comes before its technical prefection. And in yours this was there.

A beautiful image that becomes a probably unique memory of Lili's small tomb.
Resoil sense is unfortunately a very rare virtue.

Good evening, I'm new to the forum.... I was wandering through the various posts / topics and I saw this photo ... shot that speaks for itself ... in me it has resurfaced sadness and sorrow for the loss of our Nero even after years ... H

Thanks Hele and Sergio for your compliments to the photo; from what I could understand the tomb contained "probably" the ashes of the dog, in a small metal box immersed in the pair of concrete trowels that were the base of the tombstone. Hello, thank you for your careful reflections, a warm greeting, giancarlo
