Dietro alla nascita del girasole ci sono tante leggende, voglio raccontarvi la più suggestiva, quella di un amore sofferto. Clizia era una giovane ninfa innamorata del dio del Sole, ogni giorno lo seguiva con lo sguardo mentre guidava il carro di fuoco. Apollo lusingato da tanto amore dapprima cedette alla ragazza, ma dopo averla sedotta, l'abbandonò. Si dice addirittura che scelse la sorella. Clizia era disperata a tal punto che pianse per nove giorni interi immobile in un campo, mentre continuava ad osservare il dio del Sole viaggiare sul suo carro. Leggenda dice che il corpo della ninfa piano piano si irrigidì trasformandosi in uno stelo sottile ma resistente, i suoi piedi si conficcarono nella terra, mentre i suoi capelli diventarono gialli. Clizia era diventata un girasole che continua a seguire il suo amore. Dopo la leggenda sul girasole nel prossimo post con la versione in b.n. ci sarà una nuova opportunità per conoscere le caratteristiche del fiore del girasole il tutto "a modo mio".
