Le fiamme non smettono di ardere lungo tutta la Calabria, spazzando via ettari ed ettari di boschi. I soccorsi non sono a sufficienza, ragion per cui molte aree non vengono minimamente domate. Mentre mi avvio in una delle zone colpite del capoluogo incontro un signore lungo una stradina collinare, mi fermo con l'auto ed osserviamo assieme il paesaggio ardere violentemente a qualche decina di metri dai nostri occhi, mentre il vento controcorrente avvicinava piano piano il fuoco verso noi. Il signore afferra il suo smartphone e fotografa l'orto dietro le nostre spalle: "Voglio fotografare per l'ultima volta il mio orticello, così da potere avere sempre con me un suo ricordo.. "
