Durante una cena fra amici… nell'ormai lontano 1980… Franco propose agli altri commensali... di cui molti con la passione per i motori come Lui... di dare vita ad un Club che potesse accogliere ed accomunare altri appassionati delle vetture che si fregiavano del Nero Cavallino Rampante… e delle competizioni a cui queste partecipavano così… potendo contare sull'assenso e la fiducia degli altri… di lì a poco il Ferrari Club Cento (Fe) sarebbe divenuto una realtà. Poi… dal 1 gennaio 2006 su proposta di Jean Todt… allora direttore e amministratore delegato di Ferrari S.p.a. e pure direttore della Squadra Corse... i Club cambieranno denominazione e quello presieduto da Franco cambierà il suo nominativo in Scuderia Ferrari Club Cento (Fe). Nell'arco degli anni... il 1° Club per appassionati Ferrari sorto in Emilia Romagna... e fra i primi sorti in Italia... si sarebbe evoluto e per volontà ed impegno di Franco si sarebbe sempre più trovato coinvolto in tantissime manifestazioni sportive o meno anche con l'intento di raccogliere fondi da destinare a varie strutture locali dedite all'aiuto dei più deboli... e pure ad altre impegnate in scopi umanitari anche in paesi molto lontani. Venivano poi organizzate diverse gite con i pulman... sia in occasione dei Gran Premi di Formula 1 sul Suolo Nazionale... ma anche per visitare mostre e musei inerenti il mondo motoristico e non solo... e il principale promotore era sempre lui… Franco Trocchi… che per volontà del consiglio è rimasto presidente del Club per 41 anni. Purtroppo adesso Franco ha dovuto prendere la strada per una meta dalla quale qui non potrà più tornare lasciando un vuoto difficile da colmare visto che… dopo la famiglia e terminata l'attività lavorativa… tutto il Suo impegno era per l'associazione che in prima persona aveva contribuito a creare oltre 40 anni fa. Essendo Lui e suoi soci appassionati di automobilismo ed io fotografo nello stesso settore per molti anni… avemmo modo di conoscerci e frequentarci e so che adesso mi mancheranno quel Suo sorriso e quei Suoi discorsi incoraggianti e di buon auspicio su un futuro migliore per le vetture portate sui circuiti dalla Ferrari che di questi tempi in Formula 1 stentano a primeggiare. Con questa immagine che propongo Ti voglio ricordare vicino al Lockheed F-104 G Starfighter che la Nostra Aeronautica Militare donò alla Ferrari il 17 settembre 1989... per cui hai sempre provato tantissima ammirazione... e che si trova all'interno del Circuito Privato della Ferrari sito a Fiorano Modenese (Mo).
