Lungo la costa ligure non è raro incontrare bastioni, il più delle volte diroccati, che facevano parte di un antico sistema di torri-vedetta disposte lungo il litorale in modo da essere visibili l'una all'altra. Quello del Borgo Coscia di Alassio, edificato nel XVI secolo dalla Repubblica di Genova, troneggia ben conservato con la sua possente struttura circolare in pietra e mattoni. Grazie alla posizione strategica teneva i pirati alla larga dal popoloso borgo, dai suoi cantieri navali e dalle importanti attività legate alla marineria: carpenterie, fabbriche di vele, cordami e attrezzature impiegate nella lavorazione e commercializzazione del tonno. Il Torrione, oggi residenza privata, è uno dei simboli cittadini. #ville #fiori #rosso
