Siamo giunti alla seconda tappa del percorso che ci condurrà alla cima del Monte Penna. Prima di entrare nel cuore del bosco caratterizzato dalla presenza di tante e grandi piante, dovremo attraversare un breve tratto terreno poco vegeto con molti grossi massi che fuoriescono dal terreno. La presenza di tanto sasso e grossi scogli è la peculiarità principale del Monte sacro della Verna, lo aveva ben notato Dante Alighieri già ad inizio '300, infatti definirà questo luogo nella sua Commedia "crudo sasso". Sassi e grossi massi che a volte sembrano sculture accompagneranno la nostra salita fino alla cima del Monte Penna, lasciando che le trame delle radici dei faggi disegnino uno scenario unico e affascinante. Il sentiero è un po' sconnesso come vedi nelle immagini ed in alcuni tratti per il terreno roccioso e le radici sporgenti, è una passeggiata di tre km andare e tornare non impegnativa, anche se si suda lo stesso;-)
Parte dal Santuario Francescano posto a 1128 metri di altitudine. L'apice del monte che andremo a raggiungere, detto comunemente “La Penna” è posto a 1283 metri.

Impressionanti queste radici che si aggrappano al terreno.
La forza della natura ben si evidenzia in questo tuo scatto che rende molto bene il concetto radici e sassi.

N.b

Per quello che mi chiedi delle Salse di Nirano queste sono slegate dal terromoto che si e' verificato 9 anni fa in Emilia
L' epicentro del sisma e' lontano circa una 60 di km e la liquefazione dei terreni che citi sembra esser avvenuta sopratutto bella zona di Sant'Agostino di Ferrara ma non e' riconducibile alle Salse di Nirano ma ad altri fenomeni che trovano collegamento con le scosse telluriche.
Le Salse di Nirano sono al momento abbastanza ...calme..anche se la zona ha una recinzione con pali in legno e non si possono scavalcare perché e' capitato che questi fenomeni possono anche se molto raramente produrre schizzi improvvisi e copiosi di acque torride.
Mi par di ricordare che anni fa ne fu investita una persona che curiosava da molto vicino con effetti tragici.
