Giunse, finalmente…tutti quegli uomini e donne, tutta quella moltitudine, erano come un alito ansioso che saliva a lui. Era un silenzio colmo di respiri, dove anche gli animali e gli alberi respiravano l'attesa. Budda allora pronunciò il suo discorso: lo fece senza aprire la bocca. Tese verso la folla un fiore; nient'altro. Alzò il fiore e lo tese…e non solamente al discepolo al quale donò il fiore, ma tutti gli uomini, tutte le donne, tutti gli animali, tutte le piante, tutti compresero il discorso del Fiore; ogni essere vivente a modo suo lo comprese, come la sua mente e il suo cuore glielo suggerivano” (c.c.)
