Nel 2019 ho visto per la prima volta nella mia vita, per merito di un'amica che mi ha ceduto il suo prezioso invito, la vestizione de Su Componidori, è stata un'emozione fortissima, la cerimonia quasi religiosa si è tenuta in un ampio salone nella sede del Gremio dei Contadini, a sinistra c'erano i famosi tamburi e i trombettieri di Oristano che sottolineavano ogni gesto de Sas Massaieddas che vestivano su Componidori guidate da Sa Massaia Manna sopra un palchetto dove lui restava seduto immobile come un semidio, vi assicuro che è una cosa da vedere almeno una volta nella vita. SU COMPONIDORI E LA SUA MASCHERA ----- Anche il nome del capo corsa della Sartiglia, su Componidori, così come le origini stesse della giostra equestre, è legato alla dominazione spagnola nell'isola di Sardegna: il termine deriva da "componedor", ovvero il maestro di campo della "sortija" spagnola. Ogni anno il 2 febbraio, in occasione della festa della Candelora, i massimi rappresentanti dei due Gremi dei Contadini e dei Falegnami, a cui è demandata l'organizzazione dell'evento, nominano il rispettivo "capo corsa", uomo o donna che sia: da quel momento il cavaliere prescelto viene investito di un ruolo che nel corso dello svolgimento della Sartiglia lo trasformerà non solo nel "signore della corsa", ma anche in un semidio. Caratteristica, quest'ultima, che comporta una serie di rituali densi di sacralità, che già a partire da uno dei momenti più importanti della manifestazione, quello della sua vestizione, pone il cavaliere su un piano di trascendenza. La sua figura è sublime e destinata a incarnare un sacerdote della fecondità. Forza, coraggio, abilità e purezza sono le caratteristiche che deve possedere e per conservare le quali dovrà prendere i sacramenti della confessione e della comunione, ma anche evitare di toccare la terra e gli stessi abiti, indossati i quali si trasformerà in un semidio. Così, accompagnato dal suono delle launeddas, il cavaliere sale su "sa mesita", una sorta di altare sul quale verrà vestito dalle massaieddas: da quel momento, affinché possa conservare la purezza e la forza necessarie a sfidare la sorte e ottenere la vittoria, il cavaliere non potrà più toccare il suolo. Ha inizio così il lungo e complesso rito della vestizione dal quale nascerà su Componidori e che terminerà nel momento in cui gli verrà cucita sul volto la maschera androgina di terra cotta (di colore bianco per il Componidori del Gremio dei Falegnami; del colore della terra per quello del Gremio dei Contadini), che lo renderà inavvicinabile e inarrivabile. Da quel momento, e per tutta la durata della corsa, su Componidori rappresenterà il semidio sceso in terra per donare agli uomini la fortuna e cacciare gli spiriti maligni. Per questo, tra i numerosi gesti che segnano la sua solenne figura nel corso della manifestazione, non solo c'è quello che lo vede sfidare per primo la sorte, cercando di infilzare la stella di latta posta nella via antistante la Cattedrale, nel pieno borgo medievale di Oristano, ma anche quello della benedizione al popolo attraverso "Sa Pippia 'e Maju", il doppio mazzo di pervinche e viole mammole che simboleggiano l'arrivo della primavera, ossia la stagione della semina a cui seguirà il raccolto all'inizio dell'estate. La Sartiglia di Oristano ufficialmente è menzionata per la prima volta in documenti che risalgono al 1547, dove si parla di spettacoli organizzati in onore dell'imperatore Carlo V. Giochi di abilità. Spada e lancia. Cavalli lanciati alla corsa. Anelli da infilzare. Cavalieri pronti a tutto pur di strappare un applauso all'imperatore e al pubblico.
