reconfirm: close to 400mm mm focal length with the far background the 100-400mm makes it better then F.8 Marco, with a different choice in the shooting parameters (higher iso = fastest) was photographed with more safety margin I also advanced to the enfatizzatre nitidezze and detail (closing the aperture).
hello and good light, laurel

If I closed to f8, to get an acceptable time I had to raise the ISO, thus increasing the noise!
Personally I think I made the right choice.
Some people see the shake which I unfortunately do not see (I need to get glasses)
The light was!
Thanks for the comments

I'm sorry Mark but I do not see what problems would the reliable canon 40d iso to 160 or even 400 are easily supplied for this reflex and more. ... we're not talking 800/1250 iso :-) sure it's not your mental stake? (Ps we all have one). hello and good light, laurel

I do not have the 100/400 and I do not know what to make better diaphragm. I for lenses that I had and my personal experience would open. Lauro obviously have more knowledge than me on the 100/400. If I had been with my settings 300f/2.8 + 2.8, having the sharpness better (at least in my case) f / 8, I would not go f / 9 but at F7.1 or f6.3 for a fast time + .
then logically everyone brings his experiences
