During the German retreat in World War II many bridges were blown up, the old bridge in Florence was saved, Ponte Pietra did not have such luck but the skilled Italian workers made the miracle of reconstruction, excellent and exhaustive caption as your photograph.
Compliments William and happy new year :-)

Loris thank you very much for the visit and I am very happy to see you among my shots and flattered by the compliments that are very welcome. From what I learned in Verona the Germans during the retreat blew up all the bridges over the Adige but fortunately as you rightly wrote our naïve and the workers did the miracle.
This happy birthday to you and your loved ones for a year full of health and serenity.

Beautiful bridge excellently taken up, very good!
Thank you for the caption; I didn't know the history of Ponte Pietra, despite having lived a lot in Verona for the degree course in the 70s... it takes me back with a thousand memories :-)
Thank you for the wishes I spare with warmth.
Ciao, Renato

Dear Renato, I thank you very much for the constant attention to my shots and the appreciation that makes me particularly happy.
Very i didn't really know it was destroyed and rebuilt, in life you never stop learning. I am glad I brought to mind the years of university, surely Verona has left you a lot because it is a beautiful city that remains in the heart.
I wish you a good day.
A dear greeting William
