Chialvetta è la borgata principale del vallone di Unerzio, e si raggiunge da Acceglio con la deviazione verso il Gheit. Esiste anche un collegamento sulla strada che prosegue verso Pratorotondo, ma vista la piccola piazzetta antistante la chiesa se ne sconsiglia il passaggio; maggiori possibilità di parcheggio si avranno appunto nella parte bassa di Chialvetta, raggiungibile dal Gheit. La borgata, che nel tempo è stata magnificamente ristrutturata, ospita il museo "La Misoun d'en bot" , La casa di una volta , dove è stato ricreato l'interno di una tradizionale abitazione dell'Alta Valle Maira nel secolo scorso, composta da cucina, stanza da letto, stalla e fienile. È piacevole una passeggiata nelle stradine di Chialvetta, frequentata da escursionisti e scialpinisti in quanto luogo di partenza o di arrivo di numerosi percorsi escursionistici : Grande Traversata delle Alpi, La Via Alpina; i Percorsi Occitani; il Roberto Cavallero; La Scurcio di Acceglio. Sono soltanto alcune delle proposte escursionistiche nel Vallone di Unerzio, che presenta numerose possibilità di gite: Passo della Gardetta, Laghi Roburent, i sentieri fortificati dell'anello Scaletta-Oserot-Gardetta, Colle d'Enchiausa e Auto Vallonasso, Colle Ciarbonet e Monte Midia, Grange Ussiera e Colle Soleglio Bue. La bellezza selvaggia del vallone in inverno diventa meta per gli appassionati delle discipline a puro contatto con la neve. Scialpinisti, fondo escursionistico, racchette da neve approfittano del fatto che ogni via al di sopra di Chialvetta non viene sgombrata dalla neve, offrendo una rete viaria incontaminata: soltanto la natura!
