Applause Paulo, for the shoot and a wise caption, which never returns a war like this

The photo is well taken but I believe that in this case it is the vehicle to convey the thought in caption that can only be shared. All wars are tragic and dramatic events but perhaps the Great War, among the modern ones, was the one that involved children who in many cases did not even understand why they were called to fight those who until recently were considered friends and who, just because they came from beyond a geographical border beyond a summit, a river or a valley, suddenly had to be an enemy.

Reino,
Marco,

thank you for your participation. In fact, the photo is a pretext to commemorate and maintain a memory (I promised it to grand grandfather) of the great sacrifice of that time.
A dear greeting.

Sometimes I identify with these "boys" who have lived, periods and especially unspeakable winters in these places, and honestly rational thinking goes awry. Bravo Paolo to keep and keep us alive the memory. :-)

Of course you know the place well, with everything around it, from Passo S. Nicolò to Passo Paschè, with many traces of what it was even if more than a century has passed.
For me it is almost necessary to remember and commemorate, in addition to the boundaries of geography and "belonging" that I would like to think only "human".
Thane for the nice comment.
A greeting.

Beautiful document but even more touching your words; I too had a grandfather who told me about war; he had made two of them , a bullet in one arm and the loss of the toes of one foot, by freezing , in Russia; then to me, that I had not yet seen the "soldier Ryan" the war seemed like a wonderful adventure ... then, slowly, I get it. :-)

And yes, Silvio, we need to grow up a little and somatize certain realities that the most recent filmography tells with embarrassing realism.
, thank you for your nice comment.
A dear greeting.
Paolo
