Neptis rivularis (Scopoli, 1763) - Famiglia Nymphalidae - Sottofamiglia Limenitidinae - Apertura alare: Da 4,3 a 5,3 cm. - Distribuzione in Italia: Localizzata, ma presente in tutto l'arco prealpino. - Habitat: Boschi chiari e, a volte, lungo corsi d'acqua da 200 a 1000 m. - Periodo di volo: Univoltina in giugno e luglio. - Pianta alimentare dei bruchi: Spirea chamaedryfolia, Spirea salicifolia, Filipendula ulmaria e Aruncus dioecus. - Dimorfismo sessuale: Minimo, con femmina leggermente più grande e, sul rovescio delle ali posteriori, con una serie di tratti chiari un po' più marcati tra la banda bianca centrale e il bordo alare. - Specie simili: Neptis sappho da cui si distingue facilmente, oltre che per le maggiori dimensioni, in quanto non presenta la doppia banda bianca sulle ali posteriori.
