Foto scattata in Sardegna nell'allevamento di un caro amico. La gallina ornamentale di razza Cemani prende il nome dalla denominazione originaria in lingua giavanese in cui “cemani” significa appunto “completamente nero” (nota anche come Ayam Cemani dove “Ayam” significa “pollo”); la sua provenienza è infatti indonesiana e precisamente dall'Isola di Giava. E una delle razze di gallina più rare al mondo. E' caratterizzata da una livrea tutta nera; neri sono l'occhio, la cresta, l'orecchio e i bargigli, e nere sono anche piume (con riflessi verdi), pelle, zampe, tarsi, scaglie e unghie.
