I wanted a very close portrait, with a softness of the sharpness and an area of progressive blur. I didn't think the 300mm PF, mounted on an APSC (450mm) could offer this. This lens is quite soft at full aperture, and moreover, it suffers from a very important Focus Breathing at a distance between 1m40 and 2m50 (according to my observations), which makes it interesting in certain cases. I will try to combine it with an FF body one day, and despite the 300mm planned for another use, I think it can be very versatile for stolen portraits in outdoor weddings ...
