A ridosso della spiaggia di Porto Paglia, nella marina di Gonnesa (CI), sorgono gli edifici di un antico villaggio dei pescatori e dell'ex tonnara. Quest'ultima venne impiantata alla fine del XVI secolo per volontà del re di Spagna Filippo II. Fin dagli inizi la tonnara fu molto produttiva ed attiva economicamente; per questo gli aragonesi fecero costruire, sul finire del 1500, una torre litoranea (oggi in rovina) per poter controllare e fermare le incursioni piratesche. Sempre lungo la costa poco prima di arrivare alle rovine della torre si trova questa piccola casetta costruita su uno scoglio affiorante.
