Il Lago Fedèra è situato ai piedi della parete est della Croda da Lago e gode di una bella vista panoramica sul Becco di Mezzodì, la caratteristica cima che chiude il panorama verso sud. E' un tipico lago dolomitico d'alta quota. Non ha immissari ed emissari ma, essendo alimentato da sorgenti sotterranee, il suo livello permane quasi costante. Il suo nome sembra derivare da "feda" che significa "pecora". Sulla sua sponda meridionale, fin dal 1901, sorge il Rifugio Palmieri - Croda da Lago.
