Effettivamente questa ragazzina (una venditrice di ghiaccio) era stanchissima, il caldo era veramente molto forse del resto e sicuramente era in piedi da ore ... Ma probabilmente nel suo sguardo c'è anche un velo di curiosità e di stupore.

Non è possibile passare indifferenti tra le tue immagini, non è possibile non soffermarsi a lungo ad osservarle, a gustarle, a respirarne l'atmosfera, a viverne l'anima, non è possibile non emozionarsi profondamente.

.. sarà forse perchè io non sono un vero fotografo, Francesca? Almeno non nel senso comune del termine.
Io non faccio foto perchè ho qualche cosa da dire, non ho dentro di me il sacro fuoco dell'ispirazione che mi spinge a fotografare qualunque cosa, riuscendo sempre ed immancabilmente ad ottenere immagini pregne di significati profondi. No, niente di tutto questo .. Io faccio foto solo quando mi trovo davanti a persone che colpiscono la mia immaginazione e la mia sensibilità perchè riflettono nel loro volto, nel loro sguardo, le proprie emozioni, le proprie passioni, la propria vita.
Come nel caso di questa ragazza, un venditrice di ghiaccio in un mercato ganese. La foto è stata scattata più o meno verso le 11 di mattina, ma sono sicuro che lei fosse in giro già dalle prime luci del mattino, sotto un caldo soffocante ed in mezzo ad una calca tremenda. E nei suoi occhi credo tu abbia visto, come anche io ho visto, tutta la stanchezza di una vita, nonostante la giovanissima età.
Grazie di cuore, Francesca, per le splendide parole con le quali hai voluto impreziosire questa foto. Sono sinceramente colpito, ed onorato.

.. It may be because I'm not a real photographer, Francesca? At least not in the usual sense.
I do not do photo because I have something to say, I have within me the sacred fire of inspiration that drives me to photograph anything, always managing to get images and inevitably freighted with deep meanings. No, nothing like that .. I make photos only when I'm in front of people that strike my imagination and my feelings because they reflect in their face, in their eyes, their emotions, their passions, their lives.
As in the case of this girl, a seller of ice in a Ghanaian market. The photo was taken more or less at 11 in the morning, but I'm sure she was around from the very first light of morning, under a sweltering heat and in the middlea tremendous crowd. And in her eyes I think you've seen, even as I have seen, all the tiredness of a life, despite his young age.
Thank you very much, Francesca, for the wonderful words with which you wanted to embellish this photo. I am truly impressed, and honored.
