Situato al centro di Comacchio ed eretto nel 1632-35 fu voluto, come il Trepponti, dal cardinale Pallotta e ideato dall'Architetto Luca Danese. Sorge nel nodo interno della città, un tempo il più importante per le vie d'acqua,mette in comunicazione la Loggia del Grano, la Piazza Centrale, la Pescheria, l'Ospedale e il Trepponti, dal quale si poteva arrivare al Porto di Magnavacca e al mare aperto. La particolare collocazione urbana ad incastro su un incrocio completo di due tra i canali di più intenso traffico e di maggior grandezza, fa sì che la sua morfologia sia tra le più complesse ed articolate dei vari ponti.
