Una bella descrizione di questa espressione molto popolare l'ho trovata in rete: dopo una cerimonia pesante alcuni familiari si ritrovano da soli e per sdrammatizzare una di loro propone di fare un po' di "taglia e cuci", ovvero di commentare a ruota libera (perfidamente, ma quando ci vuole ci vuole) sulle persone intervenute. L'espressione "taglia e cuci" pare azzeccata nella accezione: "tagliare il tabarro" "tagliare il cappotto", che è sia gergale che forse (tabarro) dialettale. "Dai, tagliamo un po' di cappotti = Dai, spettegoliamo un po'".
