A nord-ovest del comune di Locate di Triulzi,(nel sud Milanese), antico feudo della Principessa Cristina di Belgioioso, noto personaggio femminile del Risorgimento Italiano, sorge un'antica strada storica che percorrevano i pellegrini di mezza Europa, secoli or sono per recarsi al Santuario di “Santa Maria ad Fontem” vera e propria Lourdes del passato. Il Santuario, le cui prime tracce sembrano risalire al 1200, è ancora esistente a circa 500 metri dalla storica Cascina Tappa, e fu costruito a motivo del gran numero di pellegrini e ammalati che qui affluivano per devozione verso le sue acque miracolose, dove si bagnavano i malati. Tutt'ora vi si recano i fedeli e si bagnano gli occhi con le stesse acque. Questo santuario che assomiglia alle scatole cinesi comprende nella realtà 3 chiese, l'una dentro l'altra. La primitiva edicola è stata quasi del tutto sepolta dalla Chiesa detta “sotterranea”, costruita sopra l'edicola; successivamente sopra la Chiesa sotterranea fu costruita la “Chiesa superiore”. Nella Chiesa sotterranea, con volte a vela, dietro l'altare si può ammirare un capolavoro: un dipinto raffigurante la Madonna col Bambino di scuola Leonardesca e, chinandosi sotto l'altare è possibile vedere, attraverso una finestrella, ciò che è rimasto della primitiva edicola: un antico pilone ed un affresco del Quattrocento che raffigura la Madonna col Bambino attribuibile alla Scuola del Bergognone. Al momento della mia visita, scendere nella chiesa sottostante era vietato per lavori di rifacimento gradini. Commenti e critiche sempre molto graditi. Grazie
