con Nikon TC-20E III, 1/200 f/5.6, ISO 1000, tripod. Laguna del Lagarto, Costa Rica. Specie: Pipra mentalis

I manachini possono essere annoverati tra i passeriformi più spettacolari. I maschi hanno livree molto colorate ed eseguono elaborate esibizioni di corteggiamento, di solito in arene appositamente ed accuratamente preparate. Questi rituali includono alcuni movimenti molto complessi che li contraddistingue come uno dei sistemi sociali più evoluti del mondo aviario. Fotografia che ha per me comportato notevoli difficoltà, dalla lunga camminata nei saliscendi della foresta tropicale per la ricerca del soggetto con un caldo umido soffocante e con la pesante attrezzatura fino alle difficili condizioni di scatto, con luce scarsissima (usato flash con better beamer), del maschio di questo soggetto in perenne movimento, da me fortemente desiderato ed alla fine fortunatamente trovato.
