Appartenente alla famiglia delle Asteraceae, l'Achillea erba-rotta All. viene comunemente chiamata Achillea moscata. Fiorisce da Giugno a Settembre ed è presente, esclusivamente in terreni silicei, in tutto l'arco alpino tra i 1.400 e fin oltre i 3.000 m. slm. Il nome del genere dedicato ad Achille, mitico eroe greco che avrebbe usato qualche erba di questo genere per curare le ferite riportate in battaglia. L'epiteto della specie da erba-rotta: “herba”, erba e “rota”, ruota: erba tonda come una ruota, per l'infiorescenza rotonda. Il nome della subspecie fa riferimento al forte profumo emanato dall'intera pianta. Il fiore è molto usato in liquoristica; in Valtellina è base per l'amaro denominato Taneda. Scatto effettuato nel mese di Luglio 2019 in alta Valfurva (Valle dei Forni) a circa 2.200 m. di quota.
