Il Catch in Focus di Pentax, semplicemente, funziona come un zone focus, o lo snap focus di Ricoh e non necessita di contatti elettronici fra obiettivo e corpo macchina. Quindi, badando a come si tiene l'obiettivo davanti alla macchina, questa ultima può scattare in automatico quando vede un soggetto nella distanza utile.
